My book

So, in my book I created a myth. I still haven't decided where it's supposed to have come from, and I doubt I ever will. But the story was so wonderful I couldn't resist writing it. So, here is the myth, along with some of Artemis's and Nathaniel's commentary to what THEY think of it. A lot of it isn't actually what I think.

“I don’t quite remember. I know she was in a different country. There’s a legend about these bracelets.”
“May I hear it?”
“Sure.” He paused for a few moments. Then he said, sheepishly, “First I need to remember it.” He ducked his head rather guiltily.
I smiled and gave a little laugh. “That’s okay. I’ll give you a little while.”
After sitting together quietly for about ten minutes Nathaniel finally said, “I still can’t remember the whole story, but I remember what the bracelet is for.”
“Okay, that’s good enough.”
“Well, what happens with the bracelet is that the mother is supposed to give it to her sons. There are always six beads. Half of them are the boy’s favorite colors. The other half’s colors all have something to do with the description of their 'soul mate'.”
I could hear the skepticism in his voice as he said that, almost see the quotation marks that his voice implied around those two little words. But, as I looked again at the bracelet, I couldn’t help but notice that three beads were a very similar shade of gold to my eyes and there were black speckles on them that look quite similar to my hair.
