Profile Pic

Hoorah! A new profile picture! (Because the people trying to replace my lenses broke the frame... Grrrrrr...)
Anyway. This picture is from... Yep you guessed it. Her again. This picture works pretty well for close to the end of Reborn, when Twi is being tortured. : O
Yeah, I know. Don't ask. Just wait till I write the freakin' scene.

Cover for Revenge

This is the current cover for Revenge. However...

I found this picture, and edited it. I think it works better. How about you?

Here's the original. Yes, from the same person as usual.

Cheerio, peeps.

The Waters of Mars

ohmygod. O.O

That was the scariest Doctor Who episode I have ever seen in my life.
I was practically hyperventilating, curled up on the kitchen floor, for 15-20 min.
NOT PLEASANT.

I would not discourage people EVER from watching Doctor Who, but I suggest you watch this episode at 12:00 P.M. with all the members of your family at home. And then you have some kind of hilarious thing to watch or read immediatly after the episode is done...

O.O

Really Fun

Ya' know, I thought writing as Clover was really fun... Not writing the book, although that's amazingly fun too, but writing with her not being scared out of her mind. Just talking randomly. It really seemed like I had gone to her and asked her to write something on my blog. It would be perfectly her, not planing a thing, showing up about half an hour late...
Hahaahaa!

I really think I'm gonna make it into a whole blog...

EEEEKKKK!!!! Next Wednesday (23rd) I go to London!!!!!!!!! EEEEEEEKKKKK! WINTER BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOHOO!!
Yeah, I really think I'll make a new blog for it...

Samantha "Clover" Kirktrace

Hey, everyone! This is the first of other people writing posts on Ariella's blog. My name's Samantha, but I prefer Clover, 'cuz I'm always so lucky. (And Irish!)

I never actually decided what I was gonna write about, so I'm really not planning this, just rambling. Um... I dunno... I've lived in (city yet to be determined, VOTE!), Vermont my whole life. Both my parents are from Ireland, and I've got three siblings. Two little brothers with red hair and an older sister.
I've got the Irish green eyes and freckles though. My sis, Erin, just has brown hair and blue eyes... ;-D
My best friends are Ame, Amanda, and Meaghan. Anthony and Kevin, too.
Er, yeah. I don't really have anything else that I would want to talk about right now...

Bu-bye!

Poll

Oops. Didn't notice that before. I'll wait a little longer, but apparently I know where I'm placing The Name of the Game.
VERMONT!
Thank you so much for voting!

Cheerio, peeps!

Don't Ask the Author... Ask Them!

With author interviews there are usually all these questions people send in to ask the author. Well I've decided that at least once a week (hopefully) I'll write a post about something or other in one of my characters' Pt. of V.s or something. Depending on how it goes/how obsessed I get with it, I might make a new blog with just their POVs.

Should be fun... First one is later today or tomorrow sometime, probably Clover.
I got this idea from Cranberry writing as her alter egos. (Here, Here, and Here.) Thanks for the idea!

Nothing to Say!

Gah! So sorry! I haven't had anything to post in a while, and, really, I still don't...

I'll be done with the second-grade book project soon... I just need to finish a few illustrations...
I can't think of anything to say..!
I still need to up load my photos from NY. I'm going to take the pictures I took at the UN to school, to show at social studies, because we've been learning about stuff like that. Humanities night is on Wednesday, there's a Hanukah carnival tomorrow night, so definitely no posting then, because I volunteered.

VOTE!!!! I can't decide what state to place my trilogy. VOTE!!!!

And what's wrong with me?!?! I keep typing because wrong! Since Thursday!

Oh, and all the people here from the Red Oak newsletter, hey!

VOTE!!!!!
Cheerio, peeps!

P.S. If I finish my homework I'll write up Twi telling Clover and those guys about the way to nullify her and others' powers...
Oooh! In This Twilight by Nine Inch Nails started playing with iTunes on shuffle! Yay! Gotta go listen.

Reborn

If you look on the side I have a new thing under the copyright. That's my "countdown" till I finish Reborn and start sending it to publishers. I have page numbers and chapters. I don't know how many chapters I should have, but I want about 200 pages. I'm pretty sure I'll get there.
Then I have POV (Point of view). I have Clover's and she's the main narrator. I'm working on Twilight right now. I'm probably gonna finish off chapter 4 with her. Then I want to have Amelia and Anthony. Probably Meaghan too. That'll probably be it for Reborn. I'll make sure I get more of a variety for Revenge. Probably Twilight's spy, even. It'll be fun!
I know I was just going to get to chapter 5 and then go back to The DD, but I am in shock I can write this well. I'm seriously in love with this book. And if I ever get famous, this is what I want to be known for. (Crossed fingers...)

The Name of the Game covers

This is Twilight Dawn Whispers on the cover of the first book, Reborn. I made her eyes violet because she's sad. No, I'm not gonna tell you why. Wait till I (cross my fingers) get the book published.

This is the original picture.

This is the cover for Revenge. It fits with my basic idea for the story and the few scenes I have planned.

This is the cover for Return. Her eyes are light icy blue because she's so really, really, REALLY angry, she's calm. This is when she gets her final revenge on Diavolo Mostri.

They all come from here. God, this person is freekin' bloody awesome!! (Yeah, yeah. I know my vocabulary's turning British. I can't help it! I need to practice for winter break. (Hooray for London and Paris. Too bad I can't speak French. My mom'll have to translate...))

Prologue-1777

Prologue-1777

James Ward woke up staring at the canopy on a bed. He blinked his eyes, trying to remember. He had been somewhere… He shook his head, trying to remember, and promptly cracked it against the headboard.

“Ouch!” he cried out in small pain, but mostly surprise.

He heard a little giggle, that sounded almost like; “Abigail?” James’s voice shook as he asked, almost afraid to know the answer, whether or not it was his dead little sister.

“No,” said the girl. James immediately knew it wasn’t her, even without the negative answer. “I am sorry. But, no, I am not a ghost, nor a demon. I am not here to haunt you.” She answered all his unspoken questions.

“Who are you, then?” James was rough with his question. He was a soldier, even though he was only 15. He had fought in the front lines with General Washington. He wasn’t about to be intimidated by a little girl.

“You know me. I saved your life.”

“It was you?!” he asked in great surprise as his memory came back in a flood. He had been shot in the arm, in searing pain. He had tried to go back to tents, but he wasn’t quick enough. He was going to be shot, either by a red coat or one of their cannons, as he lay on the ground, bleeding, but he had been pulled out of the way with his uninjured arm. He had lost consciousness after that.

“Yes.” Her answers were always simple, straight to the point. It was very frustrating; she hadn’t gotten to the points he wanted to cover a single time yet. To add insult to injury she was still hiding in the shadows.

“Well, could you at least come out, then? I need to be able to thank you properly, after all,” James coaxed her.

The little girl stepped into the light of the few candles in the room. Her hair was black and very long. It was tied up in a way he had never seen before. Her hair was up in two ponytails, on the sides of her head. She wore a long white dress with flowing sleeves, like the princesses in some of the illustrations of the books he had read to Abigail when she was very little. Her eyes were pitch black, but they seemed very kind, to him.

“Who are you?” James asked again. “Are you a witch?”

“No, I’m not a witch. But close. I am a goddess. My name is Twilight Dawn.”

“And what do you have to do with me?”

“By saving your life I have put many things in motion. There is a future ahead for us both that will be different than anything either of us has ever encountered. And you will be my brother throughout it all.”

“What?” he was so confused.

Twilight smiled slightly. “I am not human, but you can tell, of course, can’t you. You have no reason to stay human. You will become like me, and out of choice, too. You will be reborn.”

This year's goals

Ok, everyone. Here are this year's writing goals.

For a while, I'm going to take a break from The Digger's Daughter. However, I want to finish it BEFORE summer vacation. (Giving myself a few months...) The revision is pretty much re-writing it... And when I first wrote it I thought it was so GOOD! Sob! Oh, well...

While I break from Artemis, and all those guys, I'm going to be working on The Name of the Game. I want to get through chapter 5 (depending on how long that takes) before I go back to The DD. (Digger's Daughter)

Hopefully I'll be able to pull it off... Then I can start looking at publishers. I have a second cousin who could help, and my mom knows someone who knows someone who works at Scholastic, so that should help... Although it might hurt my chances if they know I'm a kid... I'm only a teen, after all. (And don't you think my stuff is all the better because of it?)

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!<3 <3 <3

Lol!!!! Happy Halloween!!!!!!

(Picture done by this guy.)

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, you read the title right. There's a birthday on Halloween.

Happy birthday, Nathaniel!
I don't have any pictures to show you. His name is because of The Bartimaeus Trilogy. So, I will tell you the story of how he was created. Or, really, more like the story of how he evolved. Lol.

When I was writing The Digger's Daughter solely for English class, I wanted to add some new characters in for a bit of mystery, add some more interest to the story. So I added Thomas. I thought he was cool, but he needed something more. I added a connection to Artemis' father. Then it didn't seem enough. I changed his age to 13, and his eye color to green, to try and give him to Art... Needless to say, it didn't work. I changed Thomas back and added James. I decided they needed one of those wonderful little brothers... You know, the kind that are your age and they have this weird sense of humor and style? They're really smart, sometimes smarter than older siblings. (like Thomas (Sorry, but I had to make him like that...))
Ah, never mind... It only works out for people who are kids, usually around that age. Oh well.
Happy 14th birthday, Nathaniel!!!!!

Ok, I need to add something for him... How about a math (Sorry people, but he REALLY loves math. Almost as much as Artemis. Lol. I need to give him SOMETHING!!)

Lol! We watched this video in school last year!!! His voice in funny!

Happy birthday Nathaniel!

bored out of my mind

Right now I am so freakishly bored it's not even funny that I'm bored because I have no homework... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Ok, for Lit we have to write stories for our 2nd grade partners. Since there are more people in our grade than theirs some people have the same person. Infublo and I got a little girl named Sophie. So, I'm using some characters and some of the same places as in my book The Name of the Game. The weird thing is that Infublo has a field like mine, creepy people like I do, she has a little bit of a Narnia base like I do, and her place is not affected by time, like a certain place in my book, that I don't feel like going into right now. (Maybe later...) WTF?!?!?!?!!!???? The world has gone mad!!!!!

I'd like to buy a hearing aid sketch...

My name is Bridget Evelyn Colons. I am goth. I don't care what anyone says, I am perfectly allowed to be goth, even though I'm nine. My mother would really rather have a nasty little girly-girl, but she's stuck with me. One of my brothers is wonderful, but the other is so mean. I am a photographer. I am Bridget Evelyn Colons.

My name is Artemis Emma Roswell. I can see the future. In a way, more or less. It's complicated... I play many musical instruments. My main two are piano and harp, though. (Yes, harp.) I write short stories with my mum. I am in love with a boy named Nathaniel Ian Legard. His father is my father's rival, as they are both archeologists. His father is Dieudonne Legard, and he wants to kill me. I am Artemis Emma Roswell.

My name is Olivia Juliet Carwin. I have know Artemis since we were three, and we are best friends. I could say we are sisters. My mother works with her father, while my father lives in France, as a photographer. He and his new wife own a fashion company, which my sister helps own. My brother is an artist. I have been through everything with Artemis. I am Olivia Juliet Carwin.

My name is Nicolaus Antioco Palmas. I moved from Italy when I was 7 and have been friends with Olivia and Artemis since then. I know everything that they have been through, and everything that has happened to us all since Dieudonne Legard and his sons came into our lives. I am Nicolaus Antioco Palmas.

My name is Nathaniel Ian Legard. My father is a criminal, a traitor and a murderer. Both my brothers agree, as does my sister. I am the youngest of the four of us. My mother died when I was eight. I love Artemis Emma Roswell, even though I am sure I shouldn't. It is complicated, more so than I care to explain... I am Nathaniel Ian Legard.

What'd you think? These are some of my most developed characters, although not Bridget, so much... I FINALLY figured out how to end the series! Fay and Infublo gave me the idea... But I'm not gonna say anything for a while...

Cheerio, peeps!

(Hooray! I've been trying to figure out how to end the series for EVER!!!!!)

My name...

My name is February Hazel Bryars. I was born 666. June 6th, 1906. I am a witch. I control the elements, Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. I am also an illusionist. When I am around, you may never be sure of your senses. My specialty is invisibility. I am February Hazel Bryars.

My name is Amanda Clara Tyma. My twin sister is Amelia. We are opposites. I have short, blonde hair, and blue eyes. She has long, black hair, and black eyes. I am a Sight. I will become the goddess of Contradiction. I am the opposite. I am different. I am Amanda Clara Tyma.

My name is Sage Helen Bryars. I am the niece of February Bryars, though you would never think it, if you were to look at us. Really, you would think me to be her grandmother, or even her great-grandmother. The reason for this lies years before my birth. I have the power over the printed word. I can control anything with words in or on it. I am Sage Helen Bryars.

There are the character bios for today.

My name...

My name is Twilight Dawn. I am of the Whispers clan, the most powerful of all. To the humans, I suppose the name of our clans would be called our surnames. Well, in that case I am Twilight Dawn Whispers. I am a goddess. Don't let my age fool you. I am, in fact, thousands of years old. I may look ten, but I may change my age, almost at will. I am a goddess. I rule the dawn, the dusk, and the young. I am a creation, I was never human. I am Twilight Dawn Whispers, goddess of Dawn, Dusk, and Youth.

My name is Thanatos Whispers. I was once a human, with a different name. My name was James Ward. But now I am Thanatos. I was born in 1762. I do not think I was ever really a human. But, of course I wasn't. I was always a Sight. And forevermore I will now be an Adamas. I am the god of Death, and of healing. For, with a death you need healing. And there cannot be healing without death, however you care to argue. I know it to be true. I have a sister, dear to me. Her name is Twilight Dawn Whispers. My name is Thanatos Whispers.

My name is Mariposa Fauna. I am not really in a clan. For there are only a few real clans. For the most part, we all just follow the Whispers clan. That is what my best friend is part of. Her name is Twilight Dawn Whispers. I was once a human. I do not remember my name, nor when it was. I am a lost child of time. Though, oddly enough, I do not mean Lady Temps. I am not sure who I mean. Perhaps I do mean of Twilight. I have a silly job, I am the goddess of flying creatures. Of insects, to be more precise. But, I am told it is important, so my job still I continue to do. My name is Mariposa Fauna.

My name is Amelia Reese Tyma. I am a Sight. I have seen death in many forms, not the least of which has been one of its many shadows. I have seen it take my mother, my grandmother, and my great-grandmother, all in front of my eyes. I will become Fate. I am Amelia Reese Tyma. (For now...)

Well, what'd you think? If you like this, I'll post some more "character bios", as I'm going to call these now.

Be Silent

With a yawn I rolled out of my bed. And then almost fell to the floor, still not fully awake. I tried to tame my tangled hair as I searched around for my green tree t-shirt, and cursed the science homework.
I was so busy searching that for a moment I didn't notice my open window.
Weird, I thought to myself, as I went to go check it out. I didn't think I had left my window open last night...
On the sill there was a little, torn piece of paper. It was red and slightly muddy. Written in some of the fanciest script I could have ever imagined, and in what looked like old-fashioned ink pen, were these words...
Be silent

Les Miserables

Wow, I'm so stupid... What with forgetting to post for so long, I never said that I finished reading Les Miserables. (Victory dance!) It was 1222 pages long. I had been reading it since the first week in June, I finished it last sunday. (More victory dance.)

Yay me! Now I'm gonna read The Phantom of the Opera. I just need to wait till it gets in at the library.
Cheerio, peeps!

P.S. When we got to London and Paris for winter break, we're gonna see the opera house Phantom is based on. :-)

The Eye

Ok, here is an idea for what I want on the cover of one of my books, The Digger's Daughter. That's the story with Artemis, and all of those guys.

How does it look? I got the original eye from this site. And don't insult it, or anything. It took me at least a few hours, over a period of about three days to finish this in Photo Shop...

The one thing those stupid word verification things are good for...

Well, I guess the title says it all. When I was commenting on Cranberry's blog I had to put in one of those stupid word verification things and it gave me an idea. (Why do they have those stupid things anyway? I dunno how they're supposed to help...) The word thing was dionfalls. So now that is a name of a character in The School of Time, or whatever I'm gonna call it. Dion Falls. Which just proves that anyone can find inspiration anywhere.

Oh, and today I started my swordplay/acting class. It's so FUN!!!!! But my legs are really sore from the stances.

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia

Oh! I am SOO sorry I haven't posted anything in so long! I got a really suckish part in the school play, so I was moping. But at least it's a character and I'm not a bird girl. O.O
The title of this post means fear of big words. :-) Look it up.

Ok, here's a new little piece from one of my books, The Name of the Game.

"Who are you? Where have you brought us? Why are we here?" Anthony yelled into the empty air of the big, old house.
Suddenly, the beautiful piano music that had been filling the air cut off. Now there was nothing to guarantee that there was anyone besides us alive in the mansion. The six of us waited in fear, listening to the light, barely discernible footsteps coming down the stairs.
Then, quite unexpectedly, the little girl from the class room was in front of us. She looked about 10, this time. Last time I couldn't tell about what age she was. She wore a long, flowing white dress, with her long, white-blonde hair in pigtails. Unlike last time her eyes were black, instead of red.
"I brought you here," she murmured in response to Anthony's question. "This is my home." Her voice and eyes were too old to belong to a child.
"I brought you here for the help you can give me. I need your help to save my brother, Thanatos."
I and some of the others were shocked. This little girl, who we had seen once in our lives, when she crashed through the windows in the gym, swearing, had just asked us to help her save someone we didn't know, and were all sure that he wasn't human.
However, to all of our surprise, Amy was the first to talk. "Is that right," hissed Amy, harshly. "You're going to make us help you find your brother? We don't even know you!"
The girl had a knowing look when she answered. "I know you better than you think. And no, I'm not going to make you help me save him." After a moment she said, "No, I won't make you help me, but I'm begging for the help." The scariest thing about what she said was that her eyes, while she spoke, turned a dark shade of violet.
She didn't look violent or lethal now, just a sad little girl.
"OH! Of course we'll help you!" I could tell that Amy now felt some of the greatest empathy for the child, having been alone enough of her own life, and from seeing all the deaths.
"But you owe us an explanation," Amanda growled through her teeth. I sighed softly to myself, knowing that she would be the last to help. Again I wondered how twin sisters could be so absoloutly opposite from each other.
"You will know, soon enough. For that I am truly sorry," the child whispered, bowing her head, as if in prayer. After a moment she murmured, quietly, without looking up, "For all the Sights, for all the Admas, I am truly sorry."
Of course that was total nonsense to us at the time.
"Wait a moment. You haven't told us your name yet," said Meahgen quietly.
The girl cocked her head to the side for a moment, as if deciding what to say.
"My name is Twilight Dawn Whispers. I am a Creation."

Creepy, right?
Oh, and by the way... Twilight is NOT a vampire! I don't care if her eyes are red and black! They change to lots of different colors! Here's a list.
Red-angry
Black-normal eye color
Dark violet-sad
Icy blue-dangerously calm (Walks slowly up to you, and snaps your neck because she's out of patience calm.)
Sky blue-very, very happy (Rare eye color for her.)

Oh, and the narrator actually isn't that main a character. Haha. No, she's just there to show how different things can be from one person's point of view to another's.

Cheerio, peeps!

Random story time.

Ok, today during the unscheduled health class, I used my time wisely, and wrote a mini page-and-a-half story. Now, who wants to read it?
Well, too bad. If you don't want to read it, then stop reading this darn blog, 'cuz you're gonna get a heck of a lot more of my little stories. And don't steal them, 'cuz I mean COME ON! They are MINE!!!!!!!
Anyway, here's the story. (May be I should give you an over-view of the characters in this book sometime... Maybe after I finish my homework...)

Story:

"Hey, Jared," I said, coming to lean on the railing next to him.
"Oh, Collin. Hey, kid," he muttered, giving me a quick glance. Then he went back to staring off the balcony.
"What's up?" I was surprised he hadn't made his usual joke or rude remark, or something.
"Nothin'," he said, shrugging his shoulders and kicked a few pebbles off the side of the balcony.
"C'mon, I know there's something wrong. So, let me ask again; what's wrong?"
Jared grinned. "Li and Feb have been rubbing off on you."
"I dunno. Maybe."
"'Kay, fine. February's what's up."
"Oh?"
"She's so ODD. She freaks the hell out of me! She dresses like one of those really creepy villains on a detective show, or somethin'. And she talks so WEIRD! It's just wrong!"
"Ah, c'mon Jared. She's not all like that." He raised his eyebrows at me.
"Well, duh, she talks weird! She was born in 1906!"
"Yeah, but still," said Jared stubbornly. "I still think she's kind of a (Insert swear here.)."
Suddenly, I was distracted by a slight shimmer in the air behind Jared's shoulder, and February appeared in her long black coat, hair tied back, and eyes glittering. She grinned mischievously.
Jared asked me a question, but I didn't hear it.
All of a sudden he saw my face and paled. "Oh, God. She's behind me, isn't she?" he asked hoarsely.
I nodded mutely.
Slowly, she put her hand on his shoulder, in the perfect position to choke him.
"Jared," she said in a soft, deadly voice. "May I ask what you were just saying about me?"
"Uuumm... I w-was j-j-jus-t sa-saying th-t-that uumm..." he was terrified and stuttering.
"Hm, well, Jared. I'll give you a while to think about that." She squeezed his shoulder, before she started toward the door. He looked as though he was about to faint.
"Oh, and Jared by the way," she said, stopping to look back at us, her hand on the door handle. "You aren't the first to think me odd, although Theodore never thought so."
"Who?" I asked, on Jared's behalf.
"Theodore Giselle. But, I think you know him better as Dr. Seuss."
"What?" I asked. She just smiled and slipped though the barely open door. Jared sunk to the ground in a faint, with relief.

Yep, February was buddies with Dr. Seuss! Oh, and she was born 666. June 6th, 1906!
Jared gets on everyone's nerves. Oh, and Li's full name is Alita. She was born in 1617. And that's where I got my age. I said I was born in 1617, so I'm 392!

Following your own blog

Seriously? Why the heck do people follow their own blog? It's pointless and makes almost no sense. Seriously? Just why?

Sorry, venting...

New photo

I took a new picture for my profile. Yes, I actually do wear purple glasses. I took the picture on my bed, so the dots are my sheets. The books in the pile are Twilight on CDs, Heir Apparent, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Amulet of Samarkand, and The Last Olympian. The iPod is mine. I had been meaning to take a picture like that for my profile for a while, but I never got to it till recently.

For some reason I've lately been obsessed with the song You're Gonna Go Far, Kid by The Offspring. I listen to at least twice a day. I wonder why...

Respect

Why do kids have to respect their "elders" if, a lot of the time, the elder doesn't give one ounce of respect back to the kid? Do you still have to respect an adult if they hurt you? Why isn't the rule just to have mutual respect for everyone, younger and older than you alike? In class, do you have to pay attention to the teacher if the teacher doesn't pay attention to you? Some would answer yes, but I am not so sure. I still wonder why the rule is to respect your elders, instead of respect, teach, and learn from all, young or old. That is my new rule. Respect, teach, and learn from all others, younger and older than you alike.

Notes

When you're writing, nothing beats your original notes. If you're like me, then when ever you get a good idea for a story then you write all sorts of little notes about it. Character names, settings, etc. Even if the story changes while you write it, the original notes are the best reference you could have.
Story time; Today I found the original notes for my newest book. I still don't really know what I'm gonna call it, but I think I might call it The School of Time. Sound good? Well, I'm still not sure if that's what it'll be called.

Hey people. I realized that I never actually put up a list of the fonts.

Edward's handwriting is Carmilla.
Bella's handwriting is Pablo.
Jacob's handwriting is Almagro.
Alice's handwriting is JoeHand.
Charlie's handwriting is ASA.
Aro's handwriting is Lucida Blackletter.
Zephyr is what is used for the cover titles.

Ouch

Ok, so yesterday, I was on a new bike path. I still like it. It's so hilly! I can go really fast. Anyway, since it was my first time, I didn't really know the curves, and I was going REALLY fast... Yeah. The long and short of it is that I pressed the wrong brake too hard, and I almost literally flipped the bike. And I went flying. And now I am REALLY sore. Ow.

Some new photos

Ok, here are a few of my newest photoshopped pictures.
I tried to make this one look like it was drawn.

I took this at a photography class. It was the sun coming through a pine tree. I thought it was cool, so I took the picture.

This picture is the same as the first. I took it in St. Louis. (Obviously.)

Inter-book communications

Are you aloud to take characters from one book you write, and them also use them in a different series? I don't know. But, I think I'm going to use some characters from one of my books in The Digger's Daughter. I'm going to use William Clarke, from The Card Players as Nathaniel's uncle. I think that works. That will also help me save the other series of books, because I was stuck with them. So, I hope it works.

AHHH! Pig attack!

Here is the regular picture of Sam I Am.

And here is the inverted, and crazily colored one.
With PINK eggs and ham!

Ok, in Seattle, all over the city, there were different statues of pigs. Like in Milwaukee they have Beasties, and things like that. I thought it was tremendously funny, and very cool. So, I went a little over board on the pig pictures. There was one that was Green Eggs and Ham. I liked that a lot, because I'm a big Dr. Seuss fan. On the side, there was a picture of Sam I Am. So, I took a picture of that (obviously). I found it on my camera, so I decided to play with it in photoshop. It was lots of fun.

Enjoy your travels, where ever they may lead!

Black and white statue

Photo shop!!!!!!!

YAY!!!! I love photo shop!!!! It's so fun! So, to start off with I'm going to post a picture I took a few years ago, but for SOME reason it was still on my camera, and got loaded onto the stupid computer. It's a picture of my cat when he was three months old, and was in love with string. (He still is, by the way. :-) Yay photo shop!
So, what I did was play around with the color shades, and lighting. It was pretty straight forward. Next, I'll put up some more fun pictures.

Cheerio, peeps!

What the heck is up with the fonts, colors, and underlining?!?!?! I can't get rid of it!!!

AHHH!!!!!!!!! There are SO many different takes on psychics!!!!! It's SO hard to get a new one!!!!!!! But they're so FUN to write about! They make such good characters!!!!!! I made Artemis a psychic, kind of, and it's been REALLY fun!!!!!!! But, people will think I based her off Alice Cullen!!!!!!! And I didn't!!!!! She is PALE, has long BLACK hair, GOLD-brown eyes, and is SMALL!!!!!!! AHHH, NO!!!!!!!!! Look at the words LONG, BROWN, HUMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRR!

Cheerio, peeps.

Character Personas

Ok, in books, there are usually a number of different personas. Some people call them personalities, but the real thing that there is almost always the same of are personas. There a few different kinds that I have seen. There can also be multiple of one persona in a book, though plenty of times there isn't. Ok, getting to the personas...

First, my favorite, The Dark, The Mystery. (Or you could call them The Rebel. :-) Usually a boy, though not always. He, or she, but for this purpose it'll be a boy, is kind of on the edge of things. He adds a lot of interest to the story. Here, in real life, imagine all the high school groups. There's the populars, the nerds, the band, and some others. Then there's that one other group, they don't really have a name, sometimes they're goth, sometimes not, but there's always one boy, on the edge of that group, who fits the persona to a T. In Twilight, obviously, Edward is that person. In Harry Potter, I am fairly certain that Harry fits. In a new book I'm reading, that person is Kartik. In the Underland Chronicles, that would be Rippred. In my book, I'm sure that it's Nathaniel. Usually, this persona has a bit of a rebellion, one of the main characters. Oh, they also either think WAY too much of themselves, or have WAY too much confidence. I'm pretty sure that in real life, I will fall for one myself. ;-)

The Friend. That persona is pretty obvious, although it's the least defined. They could be obnoxious, and have a crush on the main character, or helpful, bumbling, or... There are lots of choices. In Harry Potter, that's Ron. In Twilight, that's Jacob. In my book, that's Olivia and Nicolaus. Here are my takes on The Friend. Olivia is hyper, obsessed with clothes, and fashion, but when it all counts, she'll be there for Artemis. Nicolaus is a bit obnoxious. He's very similar to Jacob, and doesn't like Nathaniel much. But, he too, will be there when it really counts. And that's the binding factor for The Friend. The main, and sometimes one similar trait between the lot of them. They will always be there when it counts.

The Popular. Ah, the dreaded popular. There always is one, no matter what book you read, there is always a stupid snob who thinks they're better than the main character. They can never steal The Friend over, and usually not The Mystery, either. :-) Sometimes, though, they get won over and become friends with the main. Not always, though. Just like real life. :-P

The Main. Now, this persona is a bit difficult. They can all be even more different than even The Friend. But, they all have a bit of a courageous, brave streak. Sometimes, they have a power. But, they all help The Friend, make sacrifices. And that's what they really are.

Tomorrow is my birthday!

New Born by Muse

I really like this song. It starts out pretty quiet, and then BAM!!!!! Really loud. Especially if the first time that you've ever heard it, just after you bought it, and had only heard the beginning, and you were blasting it... Yeah, that happened to me. Yay Doctor Who!!!!!!!! This song is for Breaking Dawn, Bella. Yeah, get the point?

Obsessing over character's music

Ok, I am obsessed with getting songs that match up with book characters. I don't know why, but I really like to search for the songs. It helps me with character development, I guess. (Good writing tip, here! :-) So, I have been searching for songs for my characters. Here are some...

Holiday-Green Day This song works very well for Olivia. It has her kind of care free, what ever attitude.

He's a Tramp from The Lady and the Tramp I think this song is for Nathaniel. He is so stupid, sometimes. He breaks a bunch of rules, and then half the girls in the school are nuts for him.

Meant to Live-Switchfoot This song is possibly for Artemis. There is one line, that I can't remember, but it works well for her.

Map of the Problematique-Muse This is another possible Artemis song.

Take a Bow-Muse This song is for Dieudonne Legard. I don't really need to explain, if you've heard the song. He, by the way, is the villain in my story. (And he scares me to HECK! How does that work? I created him, but I'm terrified of him, and find it tremendously fun to make him scare the heck out of my characters! I am SO weird.)

Cheerio, peeps!

Things I have created...

Ok, in my books sometimes I create things to help the story. SO, here's a list of some of the things I created.

THE DIGGER'S DAUGHTER:
Mischeif (a band)
B. D. Carwin (a clothing line, also someone's name)
a city (yet to be named)
a legend

THE NAME OF THE GAME IS:
a mythology (including all the gods and goddesses, which are real)

Yeah, that's all I can think of, for now.
Cheerio, peeps!

Going Under by Evanescence

This song is really good. It works for Bella in Eclipse, I think. It's a really good song.
